Review & Swatches - Revlon Romantic Collection Polishes

Hey guys.

I was browsing Lawton's a few days ago looking for the Milani Rockstar Heavy Glitter Collection (to no avail) when I noticed a new Revlon collection. It's a small collection with 3 polishes. a few new lip balms (which actually look really nice but they were too expensive for my taste), a cream eyeshadow quad and a couple of new emery boards to match the theme of the collection.

At first glance the polish colours didn't look too interesting but once I picked up the bottles and took a closer look, I knew they were coming home with me.

Sunshine Sparkle and Blue Lagoon started to apply very sheer so I was thinking that they would need at least three coats but after the second coat, they were pretty much opaque. I did add the third coats anyways just to even everything out. Tangerine was more opaque than the others and applied easier so I only used two coats. The formula was pretty good for the most part although I did find that Sunshine Sparkle and Blue Lagoon applied a little uneven/thick which is why I had to add the third coat to even them out.

Despite not having the greatest formula, I'm in love with the colours Sunshine Sparkle and Blue Lagoon, especially Sunshine Sparkle. I don't think I've ever mentioned it before but I absolutely love butter yellows and throw some shimmer in and I'm totally head over heels.

As I said, the name of this collection is Romantic and although I can understand why Sunshine Sparkle and Blue Lagoon fit into the overall theme, I just can't understand how Tangerine can be seen as a romantic colour!

I wish the micro-glitter in these colours was more visible in the photos but it is very subtle and just adds a very pretty sheen when the colours hit the light.

Overall, despite two of the three colours lacking in the formula department, I really like the colours in this selection (even if I don't understand how one of the three fits in with the collection theme). One thing I like about Relvon polishes in general is that the name of the polish is on the top of the brush handle instead of on the bottom of the bottle which makes it easier to find colours when they're crammed in a drawer with a bunch of other polishes.

What do you guys think about these colours? Will you be picking any of them up for yourself?
