So recently Rebecca from rebeccalikesnails did a post using Sally Hansen HD in Byte over black and it was absolutely stunning. Knowing that I owned Byte along with a bunch of the other HD polishes, I immediately got out a nail wheel are starting swatching all of them over black. Some of them aren't as impressive but a lot of them really stand out on a black base.

My favourites are Byte, Spectrum and Hue.

I've never thought to layer these over black. DVD looks amazing. I'll have to try that out.

ReplyDeleteHue looks so different over black. I picked it up because I loved the pale sparking yellow. I never thought to layer it over other colours. Now I want to try it over black, or maybe some dark red to bring out its warmer tones.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently wearing Wavelength! It's much brighter when not over black, I think that subdues it too much. Definitely a pretty summery color! :)

I just bought HUE for $2.49...Used it as my base color and applied Pink irredicent glitter "Aurora" from Kleancolor and my nails positively GLOW...but never thought of using black base...will do it now!THX
ReplyDeleteI have all of the HD's except for Blu and Hi Res. I love them all! They are fun to do gradients with. I did a gorgeous gradient with Byte, 3D, Wavelength, and Lite and it ended up looking like a tequila sunrise with the pinks, oranges, and yellow. Really pretty! I got a lot of compliments on it.
