Swatch Comparison - A Few Purples (featuring Orly Frolic)

Hey guys!

Tonight I have another comparison for the Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection for you, this time featuring the purple shade - Orly Frolic.

I already did a comparison featuring the light teal of this collection (Frisky) and determined that there was no dupe for it, at least in my stash. Check that comparison out here.

Nail polish comparisons is currently in the top 3 answers of my poll of what you would like to see more of on my blog so I hope you guys are liking all the comparisons I have been working on lately. :)

Keep reading for the comparison!

As you can see, there is definitely no dupe for Orly Frolic here. In fact, none of these even come close and believe it or not, these are the closest shades to Frolic that I had in my stash.

In my original review of the Happy Go Lucky Collection, I mentioned that I thought Frolic was a lighter version of Purple Pleather from the Plastix Collection of last year and while that may be a little true, it's only because the finishes are a little similar; after seeing them side-by-side, there are far too many differences between them to call them close.

I think the closest shade to Frolic would be Milani Rad Purple but that's a pretty big stretch since they're really not that close at all and it's just the more pinkish base of both that makes them more alike than the others.

I honestly thought that this shade would be much more dupe-able than it turned out to be so if you like this shade at all, I'd recommend picking it up since it does seem to be more unique than I originally thought.

What do you guys think of Orly Frolic? Are there any other shades that you think might be closer to this than the ones I've tried?

  1. I love the color of Orly Frolic! Another good purple is Nicole by OPI's Prized Possesion Purple form the Justin Beiber collection, and Let's talk from Sinful Colors. Both have great formula's and amazing colors:) Hope this helps!

  2. rad purple is NOTHING like frolic, have you seen it on nails and not on a wheel? the white wheel is deceiving. it is UGLY and i RETURNED it. haha! like seriously one of the grossest polishes i ever bought.

  3. Hannah J: I don't have either of those to compare and I actually think that Prized Possession Purple is one of the only polishes from the Bieber Collection that I don't have, although I wish I did now so that I could have included it in the comparison.

rebecca: I know they're not alike - that's what I said. But they both have a pink base which is the only reason I said they're more alike than the others I have here.

  6. So many purples polishes and so little time to wear them all. What is it with purple? So many polish heads love them. I have a lot of purples in my stash but my eye does not go right to them first in a collection I have to admit. I check out the reds, then my eye shifts to the purples. I am so excited about every shade in the 2 new fall collections from Zoya this year. Do check them out. They are for sale already...they did not wait until the 15th release date.

  7. I love Frolic I'm wearing right now(with a top cot because I don´t like that semi sattin matte finish that it has), I think the exactly dupe for it it's Colorama Maybelline's "Noite Quente" but I don´t know if you guys got this there (I´m from Argentina)Julie
