Swatch Comparison - China Glaze Metro Collection: Concrete Catwalk

The next shade from the China Glaze Metro Collection that I've done comparisons for is the dark grey creme - Concrete Catwalk.

I knew immediately that I would be comparing this to the permanent grey creme by China Glaze called Recycle but I wanted at least one other colour to compare it to so I went through my collection and found what looked in the bottle to be comparable.

Before we get to the comparison, on a sort of related note, whenever I type the name for this polish, I ALWAYS start to type "Cracked Concrete" which is the name of the grey crackle polish from the original China Glaze Crackle Collection. I even named the photos "crackedconcrete.jpg"!

Keep reading for the comparison!

As I mentioned in my original reviews of this collection, the majority of the creme finish polishes dry darker than they look in the bottle so I just want to reiterate that my swatch is colour accurate despite looking darker than my bottle picture.

Concrete Catwalk is close in colour to Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees except that Concrete Catwalk is a bit lighter and has a hint of blue in the base. However, Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees also has a very subtle shimmer in it that isn't all that visible in the bottle or in person but it's visible here thanks to the zoom and macro functions of my camera.

I said in my original review of this shade that I thought it would be a darker version of China Glaze Recycle and while that remains partially true in that it's a dark grey creme, I think the hint of blue in the base sets it a bit farther apart from Recycle than I had originally thought.

We're still doing well with this collection so far because this is another one that I don't have a dupe for. However, if you already own it, Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees is an ok alternative if you're on a tight polish budget, but it does have a different finish and it lacks the hint of blue that Concrete Catwalk has.

What do you guys think? Do you know of any other dark grey cremes with a slight blue tint that this might be comparable to?

  1. I think I might know of a possible dupe: DL Stormy Weather. I mentioned this when you first posted about the metro collection too, but seeing this comparison really backs up my theory. I was lucky enough to come across a bottle of it at a press event while on vacation - I tried it out a couple months ago and it looks pretty darn close to Concrete Catwalk!!

  2. I love greys....the China Glaze Recycle looks much darker on the nail then in the bottle, i wasnt expecting it to look so dark, but i love all 3 x
