After showcasing The Nail Buff as my April featured blog, I was feeling really inspired to create my own unconventionally coloured funky french.
If you remember, she posted a great nude and blue glitter funky french and although I'll more than likely recreate that exact mani some day, I decided to come up with my own version by choosing two different (but equally contrasting) colours.
I started by choosing my first colour - Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede. Then, I went digging for the most contrasting colour I could find. I'm sure it will come as no surprise that the colour I ended up with is a neon! I chose China Glaze Sun-Kissed, which is one of the shades from the new Summer Neons Collection.
After painting all of my nails using Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede, I used striping tape to create the french tips and filled them in with a white creme. I then painted over the white sections with Sun-Kissed and added a layer of top coat over the entire design.
I had contemplated leaving this matte, but decided against it in the end. I might experiment and matte this in a couple of days, though.
I'm really digging how this looks and I think the colours look really awesome together! Huge thanks to The Nail Buff for the inspiration!
