Christmas Nail Art Tutorial - Santa Suit

Hi everyone!

I have another Christmas tutorial for you today! This design is actually rather easy to execute, so I think it's a great Christmas design for nail art beginners!

Keep reading for the tutorial!

Supplies:
  • Base and top coat
  • Red creme polish, white creme polish, black creme polish, gold foil polish
  • Black rhinestones (optional)
  • Small nail art brush (or you could use a striping brush instead)

Step 1:
Apply your base coat.

Step 2:
Paint all of your nails with your red creme polish.

Step 3:
Using your choice of nail art brush and the white polish, draw and fill in a scallop shape going down the length of your nails. Be sure to leave a decent amount of the red polish visible on either side of the scallop shape.

Step 4:
Near the tip of your nail, draw a thick horizontal black line. This will serve as Santa's belt.

Step 5:
To create the belt buckle, use the gold glitter polish and draw a hollow square in the middle of the belt.

Step 6:
If you want to use rhinestones as the suit buttons, place a small bead of top coat where you want the rhinestone buttons to go. Using a dotting tool or toothpick to pick up the rhinestones, stick them into the wet top coat.

If you don't have rhinestones or just would rather not use them, you can easily create suit buttons with black polish and a toothpick or small dotting tool. I chose this option for my mani.

Step 7:
After allowing your design to dry completely, add a layer of your favorite top coat. This will make your new mani last longer, it will smooth out any bumps and ridges that have been created during the process, and it will also give your nails a nice shine.

I hope this tutorial was helpful! And if you try this design out for yourself, be sure to share it with me on the Nails by Kayla Shevonne Facebook page!

Thanks for looking!
