Hey guys!
I didn't have much time for nail art yesterday, but I still wanted to have something fun and visually appealing on my nails. What I ended up with is a mani that I'm totally head over heels for!
The first colour I chose is Lime Crime Parfait Day from the Les Desserts d'Antoinette Collection. I posted swatches of the entire collection yesterday, so check that out in case you missed it. With that as my starter colour, I knew I wanted something boldly contrasting to create a couple of accent nails with.
My mind kept going back to my Milani drawer, in particular Jewel FX Gold, but I kept shrugging that idea off thinking that it would make a ridiculous looking mani. But after poking through my melmers for a while longer, I just decided to go with my gut and see how it turned out! Well, lesson learned: always go with your gut!
Milani Jewel FX Gold is a clear base packed with lots of gold hex glitters. There's basically no use in trying to apply this like a regular polish - placing is really the only way to go. So first I layed down a quick coat of Zoya Ziv to create a nice gold base in case there were any bald spots in between the glitters.
After doing all of the placing with Jewel FX Gold, I also used China Glaze Treasure Chest, which is basically the same as Jewel FX Gold, but it also has smaller gold hexes, so it did a good job at filling in some larger bald areas.
I thought that my camera would freak out at the super intense reflectiveness of this mani, but it actually did a really good job at capturing how shiny and awesome the accent nails are! And I love how the accent nails contrast with the creamy pastel pink of the other nails!
Thanks for looking!
Gorgeous as always!

Pretty! I can never get good coverage with that gold glitter, I just get a thick, goopy mess.
ReplyDeleteOoh, pretty! I love those JewelFX glitters, but they are the only ones I pretty much always apply with the sponge method, so most of the clear base gets absorbed. Otherwise it's SO thick on the nail. I like this idea using them as an accent!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I'm going to have to get that Milani!
ReplyDeleteI love this look so much :)
