Today I'm sharing six swatches from the new-to-me indie brand Contrary Polish!
Contrary Polish offers primarily shimmer polishes, and as much as we all love glitter polishes, it's a breath of fresh air to see an indie brand release beautiful shimmers instead.
Bright Night is a deep blue jelly with glowy blue shimmer throughout. This is just freaking gorgeous. The formula was thick, but easy to work with and my photo shows two coats.
Creeping Moss is a smokey browned grey with glowy gold, orange and pink shimmer. The shimmer in my bottle seemed to settle at the bottom (you can see the abundance of it near the bottom of the bottle in the photo), so I didn't get as much as I would like on my nails. Shaking didn't really help that much, so I think I'll have to store it upside-down for a while to let the shimmer redistribute.
Firebrand is a slightly rustic red jelly base with golden and fuchsia shimmer throughout. The shimmer seems to sink into the base to give it a really pretty lit-from-within look. The formula was great and my swatch is two coats.
Gilded Oak is a gorgeous dusty greyed purple with golden, magenta and silver shimmer. This is definitely one of my favourites. There's so much shimmer! Again, great formula and I've shown two coats.
Inky Fingers is a dusty dark purple with iridescent green and blue shimmer. I showed you RBL Scrangie yesterday, and this one reminds me of a deeper, slightly less shimmery version of Scrangie. Love it.
Purple Smoke is a dusty blue-grey with iridescent blue and magenta shimmer. The shimmer in this one doesn't look quite the same as the others. Instead, it gives the polish an overall flash of blue/purple. It's really pretty.
Overall, I'm super impressed with this brand and I'd really like to try some more of the lovely shimmers that are offered!
Contrary Polishes can be purchased via llarowe and each shade retails for $11.
