Christmas Nail Art – Dotted Christmas Trees

Hey guys!

Like I figured I would, I removed the candy cane mani yesterday and did a whole new design. This one was inspired by a holiday card we received where the image of the Christmas tree on front was done abstractly with polka dots. I thought the concept would translate really well into a nail design, so that’s what I did! If you want to see the holiday card, I posted a picture of it here on Instagram.

The base colour here is Zoya Purity and then I used a bunch of different green polishes to create the trees:

OPI Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow
China Glaze Gaga for Green
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover
China Glaze Holly-Day
China Glaze Re-fresh Mint and
China Glaze Running in Circles

Then I used a small nail art brush and China Glaze Ruby Pumps to create the little stars on top.

I realized a couple of things while doing this mani:
1.) I have a large selection of green polishes from China Glaze, but not many from any other brands, and
2.) Making tiny stars symmetrical, especially using my non-dominant hand, is super hard!

I’m much happier with this mani than I was with the watercolour candy canes. And it got a ton of compliments at my fiance’s work Christmas party last night!

Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Featured Blog – October: Adventures in Acetone

Hey guys!

Welcome to October’s featured blog post! I’ve known since last month’s feature which one I would be doing next so I’m actually early posting this one! For my newer followers who haven’t seen one of my featured blog posts before, check out my Featured Blogs tab at the top of the page for more information.

Jacki is a friend of mine through a Facebook polish group and she started catching my attention recently when she posted photos of her nail art in the group. For some reason I wasn’t already following her blog, Adventures in Acetone, so I started following immediately and I’m so glad I did! She’s definitely an up-and-comer in the nail art community and her blog is one that really deserves some extra attention.

On her blog you’ll find a mix of nail polish swatches, freehand nail art, stamping nail art and tutorials. She updates really frequently so there’s always something to look at and she takes really clear and colour accurate swatch photos. I also really adore the name of her blog!

Here’s a sneak peak of her work:

Look familiar? She used my Patchwork tutorial for this design! And I totally love the colours she used for her variation of my design.

This is only a sample of really great posts she’s made so be sure to head over to see more from her!
